Is there a way to create a "proability distribution" in Excel? I am in a
statistics class and it would be really helpful. <
You can use Excel's worksheet functions to get the probabilities
(probability mass, probability density, or cumulative) for many
distributions, including normal, binomial, poisson, and exponential. And you
can use Excel charts to display worksheet values for probability mass
functions, probability density functions, and cumulative distributions.
You can also use Excel's Histogram tool to get the frequency distribution
and histogram column chart for data, or you can use the array-entered
FREQUENCY function (or COUNTIF functions) and a Column chart type to get a
histogram. Or, you can use my free Better Histogram add-in, available from
http://www.treeplan.com.
Many statistics textbooks have instructions for using Excel for these
purposes and more.
