How do I create a vertical dashed line?

I am trying to create a rhythm chart worksheet for music students, and need
to create a vertical dashed line in the chart inbetween vertical straight
lines. I can't seem to manipulate the drawing tool to do this.

Draw the line first, then select it and apply a broken line style of the
appropriate weight. There may be a "Dash Style" button on your Drawing
toolbar. If not, use the More Line option in the Line Style or just
double-click on the line to open the Format AutoShape dialog, where you can
choose the line weight, style, color, etc.
