how do i create an transparent image for word?

i created a logo in illustrator
and i want to bring it into word,
but i want to keep the background of the logo transparent,
and i want to the logo to come out clear and sharp on screen.
i've tried eps format, iut prints fine, but it comes out unclear and jagged
on screen.

In Illustrator, export/save the graphic as a GIF. I've never used
Illustrator, but other graphics apps let you specify the transparency color
during the save. failing that, after inserting the graphic into Word (insert
it from a file, not by pasting), use the transparency arrow from the picture
toolbar and select the transparency color that way.
