How do I create keyboard shortcuts in OneNote?

Is there a way to create keyboard shortcuts - e.g., making a symbol such as
"pi" or a function, such as "indent" an alt+key command?

Inserting a pi character/symbol can be done using the following
technique:

1. Type the Unicode number for the character, 03C0 for pi, at the
desired location in a OneNote page
2. Hit Alt+X - the 03C0 is replaced by the pi character

Another option is to use the Character Map, select the desired
character/symbol and then copy and paste into OneNote.

I am not sure how general a solution you are looking for.

The tab key will indent. Are you looking for something more specific?

For pi, you might want to look into Windows' ability to support multiple
input languages (Control Panel | Keyboard Properties | Input
Locales). For example, if you're spending a lot of time using Greek
characters in addition to Roman, you might want to set yourself up so
that you can hotkey between US (or whatever) and Greek key mappings.
For example, I switch back and forth between US-International and
Greek, as my work requires.

For indent -- I thought that OneNote did a pretty good job of
interpreting the tab key in certain contexts as an indent function.

You can also use OneNote's built-in AutoCorrect for
commonly used symbols/words.
