How do I create links to office docs when publishing to ftp server

When I upload my 2003 Publisher build Website to the ftp file server, the
paths for the links to Word docs residing on my C drive does not change. I
did not have this problem with my previous Publisher version 2000. Is there
a downloadable patch to correct this situation or am I doing something wrong?
Please help.

Dean,

The handling of external files changed between version 2000 and version
2003. Here is an article explaining how to include external files in a
Publisher web:

I just reviewed your references and now understand my frustration between
versions 2000 & 2003. I will upload the external files with appropriate
hyperlinks separate from the Publisher 2003 created Website. I will post the
results afterwards. Thank you for your prompt response and sharing your
knowledge.
