How do I create multiple masters?

i need to create multiple masters in powerpoint. i went to the
preferences menu and found text that said multiple masters but there
were no choices other than something like "retain formatting when
copying page to a different presentation". i can't find anything
anywhere else. the microsoft "help" menu (a misnomer if i've ever seen
one!) revealed nothing on multiple masters.

i am running Office X on a G4 Titanium.

The trick is to be in Slide Sorter view. Once in Slide Sorter view,
select only the slides you want a template applied to (CMD+Click to
non-congiuously select if necessary), then click on the template you
want applied from the Formatting Palette, or goto Format | Slide Design
and check "Apply to select slides."
