how do I crop print scaned pictures/

When I scan a picture that is smaller than the scanner surface, how can I
print the picture only, and not the scanner face?

Use the controls that are part of your scanner software. If you are scanning
a picture directly into Publisher, I'd suggest scanning the image in first,
edit it, and then insert that image.
