How do I customize toolbar icons in Office 2007?

Hoppy

How can I modify the toolbar icons (-- in the Quick Access Toolbar?) ?

In previous versions of Office, you could go into Customize, click on the
icon in the toolbar, hit Modify, and modify the icon with a little graphics
program, change to just show text, etc., etc.

There's a 'Modify' button, but I can't seem to activate it.

Your help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

You are out of luck.
You'll have to deal with RibbonX (see
http://pschmid.net/office2007/ribbonx). Create your own stuff on the
ribbon, then add it to the QAT manually.

Thank you very much for your quick response, Patrick -- even tho' I'm not
happy with the answer.

It'll be a cold day in Hades that I pay for a program to change 'X' to
"Exit".

Why is there a "Modify" button if it won't modify any thing?!! ...way to
go, M$!!!
