How do I cut & paste from word to a web application?

This newbe is trying to learn how to cut & paste from a word document to a
web page. ie resume in word to a web page asking for a cut & paste resume or
type in directly. Want to learn how to cut & past to the web page.

Do you know how to highlight text? Do you know how to copy and paste? (I
don't know how new you are so I have to ask.)
