How do I cut & paste text in Word?

I am trying to cut a block of text and move it to another place in the
document, but cannot figure out how to do this. It was easy to do in the
1997 version of Word, but I do not see the appropriate icon in the 2007
version

Make sure the 'home' tab is selected and look in the clipboard command set
(near upper left corner of the window).

I prefer using Ctrl + x to cut and Ctrl + v to paste rather than find the
tools at the top of the window.
