How Do I Default Paragraph Indent.

Hi,

In Insert>Paragraph>Indentation>Special> By 0.5".

How do I default 0.5" so that when I open a new document, paragraph
indentation is already set until I want to un-default it?

As it is now, I have to set the paragraph indent every time I open a new
document. I've looked all over 'Word Help" and can't find a way to default.

Define a style for each type of paragraph? If you do not normally use
styles, then I guess you might change the formatting of the style
called normal.

Styles are how you should manage stuff like that. Check out Clive's
"Bend Word to Your WIll" on the MVP site.

Open word.
Set document margins as desired.
Type something, anything.

Do save As.

Give a name.

when message comes up do you wish to save changes in "normal". choose yes.

Now quit Word.

locate the dummy document you just create discard in trash and empty.

Now open Word when normal template comes up (does so by default) margins
will be set as previously set in the dummy document.
