how do I delete a corrupt email

I am using Outlook 2007 with Vista, I have a corrupt email that I cannot
delete or open. I get error

The file C:/users/philip coo/appdate/local/microsoft/outlook/outlook.pst
cannot be accessed.

I only get this error with this one email. I have tried starting Outlook in
safe mode but it still will not let me delete it. Really would appreciate
some advice on this.

Scan the pst-file for errors with scanpst.exe

I have just tried that and get the following error:

''An unexpected error prevented access to this file. Use a disk error
checking program to check the disk and then try using the Microsoft Office
Outlook 2007 Inbox Repair Tool again.''

In that case use a disk error checking program
Start-> Run; cmd

Type; chkdsk C: /f

Replace C: with the reference to the drive where you store your pst-file.
