How do I delete a huge email message (27MB) in the outbox?

Confused emailer

I have attached about 10 jpeg photos to an email and it has been stuck in my
outbox for 2 days. I cannot delete the email as it says it has already began
sending it. It is obviously not going through. How can I delete the
message? HELP.

You need to start the computer without a network connection (or letting it
have the ability to start one via dialup). Once the computer is up, start
Outlook. Select File > Work Offline. In a few minutes you should be able
to go to the outbox, open the item and then delete it. Once deleted, select
File > Work Offline again to put it back online and then reconnect to
network.

- Load Outlook.
- Put Outlook in offline mode (File -> Work Offline: enable).
- Exit Outlook.
- Load Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe"). This ensures no
plug-ins get loaded when Outlook is loaded. Reloading Outlook in
offline mode means it won't touch the stuck item. If Outlook ever
touches the item, you cannot delete it.
- Delete the stuck item in the Outbox folder.
- Put Outlook in online mode (File -> Work Offline: disable).
- Exit Outlook.
- Reload Outlook.
