How do I delete a previously "customized" noteflag?

I customized a number of noteflags (~10), and later simplified them down to a
more meaningful list of 5 noteflags. I cannot find a way of deleting the
buttons that appear on the standard noteflags toolbar.

Toolbar customization does not allow one to remove the noteflags buttons
that were previously customized.

I can confirm what you've found - that you cannot reset a flag to a
"blank" default.

What might help is to reset manually the flag definitions to the defaults
(no highlight, no icon) and explicitly set the name to "Undefined".

If you want a scorched earth approach, you can delete the
"preferences.dat" file found under your profile (turn on "Show hidden foles
and folders" in Explorer's options) and the recreate the 5 flags you want
to keep.

Just FYI ... I tried this before I posted my question. OneNote will not
allow you to reset the flag to "Undefined" -- recognizes as a conflict with a
flag with same name.

Thanks anyway, will give "scorched earth" approach a try.

Try renaming to " Undefined" and " Undefined", etc. (Note the leading
spaces of different lengths)
