How do I delete a task in PWA that was rejected by my manager

I created a new task via PWA "Create a new task" option. The task showed up
on my Timesheet. I didn't put any time against the task. I updated the task
and the notification went to the PM. The PM rejected the task. It doesn't
show up on the Project plan, but still is displayed on my timesheet. How do I
remove the task. IS hide the only option?
