How do I delete a task with protected actuals?

We've just implemented a PMO solution with Project Server 2003 SP1. I've
got Admin access. A task in the Administrative Project is no longer needed
and I've got 6 resources who've logged time against this task. I want to
delete this task in order to prevent resources from logging time against
this in the future. When I try to delete the task, I'm told I cannot
because it's a task with Protected Actuals. Can anyone help?

Thanks

I won't guarantee these to work, but here's what I'd try.
1) Use the Update Actuals option in Project Web Access to reassign the
Actuals to a different task, then retry the task delete.
If that doesn't work, then
2) Close that Admin project (be sure to set the end date on all the tasks to
a past date and zero any Remaining Work values) and create/open a new Admin
project.

The simplest method is to have each resource just "Hide" those tasks from
their timesheet. They will not be able to see them again, nor report time
against it.
