How do I delete an appointment without deleting the reoccurance?

I would like to know how to undo an appointment without undoing the
reoccurance in MS Calendar 2003. For example. If I accidentally put a person
in at every spot at 3:00 forever, how can I undo their name without deleting
the appointment spot?
