How do I delete entire Contacts folder?

T

Tom

I copied my .pst file over to my new laptop but when I
compose a new message and press the To: button it says
there is a problem opening my Contacts though other than
composing a new message, my contacts are all visible and I
can right click on one and send an email that way. So I
created a new Contacts folder called My Contacts and
easily copied all my contacts there, but I'd like to get
rid of my defective Contacts folder.
I'm using Outlook 2002.

If this is a system file it will not just Delete. By the same
token the new Contacts folder will not just become the
system folder because the other folder is gone.

You will need to Delete the Contacts system folder
using the Ffolder utility. Then Open Outlook using the
".../ResetFolders" switch to build a new Contacts
system folder. Then transfer all your contacts into the
new Contacts system folder and delete the current folder
that they are in.

Look on Sue Mosher's Slipstick site for Ffolder Utility:

Ffolder Utility: Utility to rename or delete "special"
Outlook folders such as the Calendar, Tasks, Inbox, and
Contacts. VB source code included.

Look on technet for the information on how to rebuild the
Contacts system folder with the "/ResetFolders" switch:
