How do I delete every calendar item from 2006?

Is it possible to isolate and then delete every calendar item (meetings,
appointments etc.) for a specific past year?

Sure. Sort by date, use a filtered view or advanced find to show only items
for that year. The select all and delete. You can also use archive to
remove all items prior to a date.
