how do I delete .Mac folder?

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

I foolishly and needlessly imported what little there was in my Apple Mail into Entourage, but now that I want to get rid of it, I can't. On the left side are: Folders on My Computer (folder), .Mac (folder), Microsoft News Server and Mail Views (folder) but when .Mac is highlighted practically everything in the Edit menu is greyed out including Delete and Clear. It just bugs me that it's there (a couple of times new messages went there instead of to my Entourage inbox...

Delete the account under Tools --> Accounts in the Menu bar.
