How do I delete rows? I have 65,000 of them

I created a spreadsheet and it has over 65,000 rows. I
have tried highlighting them and deleting them but it
doesn't seem to make a diference. I am only using about
80 rows so it's a pain to get up and down to view them
since the right arrow bar thinks I have thousands of
rows. Thanks for any help!

You need to select the row headers, then delete the actual rows themselves. Then do the same for
the Columns. You can use Edit / Go To / Special / Last cell to see where Excel thinks your sheet
really ends.

Select the rows and columns, delete, save the wb, and
sometimes you have to close and restart the workbook (depending on excel
version)
If it is from the 81st row you can type 81:65535 in the name box
press enter, do edit delete, now type the first empty column and the last
column in the name box lets say it is column AV then type
AV:IV and press enter and edit>delete. Save the workbook and
with excel 97 I believe you have to close the workbook as well

Ken and Peo have shown you how to reduce what Excel thinks is your "used
range" to shorten the vertical scroll bar range.

The 65000+(65536) rows will not actually be deleted. They will always be
there, just not "used".

I think it is a used range problem based on here second statement:

Hi Tom!

You're probably right on the nail but I keep reading it as if Wendy
wants all below 80 to just disappear.

I have had quite a number of students ask why they still have 65536
rows when they've just deleted 10 of them and it seems that the
analogy of a sheet of paper divided into cells has been used.
