How do I Design a 3ft x 4ft poster?

I have PPT slides to pt into a research poster -do you have a template of
suggestion how to build the poster?

You cannot print a poster this size from Word (unless your printer has
scaling or tiling options), so you need to consider some other application.

Another suggestion, considering that you probably don't have a giant printer
or plotter that can handle 3 ft x 4 ft paper: Print each slide separately on
letter-size paper (presumably from PowerPoint, not from Word) and attach the
papers to the poster board with glue or double-sided tape.
