How do I design my own template in PowerPoint?

Hello,

I would like to edit the slide background to the go with the colour scheme
in our company logo. I would also like to include different shapes and
components and add shadows to these in the presentation. All these effects
should be the slide template. Basically I would like to freely design my own
template. I would like to decide upon colours, compositions, opacity levels,
shapes - everything. How can this be done?

I sincerely hope there is a way to do this!
I'm in desperate need of a quick reply!
