how do i disable macros cause when i open word i get the error

i suddenly have noticed that whenever i open word, i get a microsoft visual
basic window opening which tells me that macros is disabled... click help for
online help or cancel..... how do i get rid of this once and for all ?
Secondly , i want to lock my taskbar on word cause whenever i open, i get
some new custome tool bar rows opening....

I thank everyone giving me their sugestions..........
