How do I disable Messenger Service which appears daily with a bee

I have been bombarded daily by a loud peep for months. I called your office
and they advise me ask Microsoft to disable Messenger service that I do not
want.I use my computer only occasionaly but like to keep it lit for my Skype
family contact. Please let me know how to disable Messenger Service(register
cleaner). Mnay thanks JMercer
