How do I disable the My Places bar?

I never have used the My Places bar. The auto feature that now delays my
moves in order to update the My Places bar is anoying. I wish to at least
disable to message. I would be happy to send My Places to garbage.

Don't know about disable, but I know how to fix it. The My Places bar is
that bar down the left side of the Open or Save As box. Until recently, the
only things there by default were local things on your hard drive. Somewhere
along the way a product or service of Microsoft's started adding a Live
Workspace link to that bar. Apparently, it has to connect or time-out before
the Save As box appears.
