How do I disable the touch pad on my VAIO laptop?

I use a Wacom pad all the time with my laptop. Unfortunately the built in
touch pad often interferes with my typing and I would like to disengage it
temporarily when typing. Is this possible?

You're quite unlikely to get a good answer in a newsgroup devoted to
Microsoft Word. Try the support area of the Sony web site.

As Jay says, unrelated to Word. But I have the same issue on my Dell
notebook. What I had to do was download drivers for the touchpad and install
them, then disable it via control panel. Otherwise the touchpad was working
but there was no options to disable (or change any of the other settings).

So the Sony site is your best bet for getting the download for the touchpad
drivers.
