How do I disable the Word 2003 splash screen?

I think I remember being able to turn off the splash screen in Office XP
applications, but I can't find the equivalent feature in Word 2003. Since
Word takes so long to load, the splash screen effectively disables the use of
whatever program was in the center of the screen for the duration of the Word
load.

I found the answer already: use /Q as a winword.exe command line option.

My understanding is that disabling the splash screen just disables the
splash screen; it does not speed up loading: the splash screen is just there
to give you something to look at while the program loads.
