How do I display cyrillic text in the inbox view of MS outlook?

Multilanguage support is installed and works fine - within emails or within
Word or Excel. However, the "subject" and "from" fields in the Outlook inbox
view displays ???? instead of cyrillic text from Russian correspondents,
which is not very helpful. How can this be remedied?
