the ° symbol can be got be holding down the Alt key and typing 0176 o
the *numeric *keypad, then letting go of the Alt key

Format the cell as Number > Custom > General℃

Where the little box:
℃
is the unicode character (decimal 8451) .

Then format the font to Arial Unicode MS
