How do I do a clean paste

K

Most of the trouble I get into with Excel is when I paste.

So I want to start using paste special.

Only weird thing is it says paste, all, then 9 button (most of which I don't
know or understand)

So you have to either select all or one of the buttons.

Should not there be a way to not have to select one of the buttons? A way to
just paste text and nothing else? Thanks

Not sure what dialog you're seeing with 9 buttons...

What are you trying to paste (special)?

To just past the text, select values.

To just past the text, select values.
Ok thanks Bob, I'm going to trust you that instead of putting the incredibly
simple word "text' Excel put values and that is text. I wont venture to
guess why they can't put text.

Because "values" can be numbers, too. Then they'd have to write "text
or number", which would cause unwarrented confusion amongst some
users.
