I have a large distribution list that I need to email. The list is all

The
list is set up under contacts.
If you have Word installed, use its MailMerge feature. Otherwise, start
hunting around for bulk mailer software. You may run into problems in
Outlook if you simply use a distribution group with all recipients to
send out bulk mails, like hitting anti-spam quotas by your e-mail
service provider (how many recipients per message, how many messages per
mail session, how may mail sessions per minute, etc.). Bulk mailers
probably can be tweaked to prevent hitting the anti-spam quotas of your
e-mail provider. MailMerge sends them out one at a time (each
recipients gets a new mail rather than sending one mail that is copied
to all recipients and is done at the mail server), but it cannot be
tweaked to circumvent your e-mail provider's anti-spam quotas. Rather
than trying to solve the problem using client-side solutions, especially
if you will be repeatedly sending bulk mails, start looking at bulk
mailing services. You send them the message to distribute and then send
them the recipient list (if it has changed since the last mailing) and
they take care of blasting out your spam, er, bulk mails.
