I think it will let you download the product. If not you can always
download/install the trial version then use the supplied license key
(after you purchase) to convert the trial version to the full version.

Yeah, well if he wants JUST Outlook then he'll have to go to a "select
retailer". But he can buy Outlook as part of a suite on-line.
Or he could download and install the fully-functional trial version of
the suite for free, which would give him 60 days to find a "select
retailer" to buy the individual application from.

I'd say I'm surprised that MS only allows the direct purchase/download of
the more expensive suite, but... I'm *sure* there's a rational design decision
behind it.
