How do I draw interlocking rings with all lines visible

D

Debbie

I want to draw 3 interlocking rings into which I can add text boxes. I need
the lines of all three circles to show, so that they appear linked. I am
using Word 2007.

See if any of the SmartArt choices give you what you want (on the Insert
tab - then mess with them, sorry format them as you wish, through the
options on the SmartArt contextual tabs)

Hi Debbie,

There are a couple of methods you can use. A basic one is to use
Insert=>SmartArt=>Relationships
and pick 'Basic Venn' as the diagram type.

Then for each shape you can use the SmartArt Tools=>Format
and select a shape style that has no 'special effects'
then set 'Shape Fill' to 'no fill' and for Shape Outline select the color and line type and size that you want. You can type in
the rings or click on the text launcher arrows on the left side of the diagram.

You can drag the corner of the SmartArt frame to resize everything, or drag the handles on any selected circle to resize them
individually if you want to adjust how much 'overlap' appears.
