How do I duplex print in publisher on a desktop printer?

I have a 60 page booklet to print on my laser printer. I want it two sided
but can't print duplex via Publisher. I can print duplex from Microsoft Word
just fine. Help!

Does your printer has a duplex unit? Are you waiting for Publisher to tell you to
turn the page over?

If you have duplex capabilities, then check with the manufacturer's web site for an
updated driver. This is a printer issue not a Publisher issue.

In addition to Mary's excellent advice, have a look at the following Add-In
if you are running Publisher 2002 or 2003:
http://www.publishermvps.com/Default.aspx?tabid=43

What the add-in does is print even pages first, then gives you an
opportunity to flip the pages over and then it will print the odd pages.

Let us know if you have any questions.

You need to put it in a folder that won't move, then go to Tools > Add-ins
in Publisher, click Browse..., and select the DLL file.

I have added the duplex add-in - Thanks for your answer.
My problem now is how to use it.
I have a 4 - page folder, and if i just use CTRL-P, I get all 4 pages
printed on two different pages without any chance to put the paper back.
So, How to...

The Duplex add-in does not make the standard Print dialog have duplex
options.

Instead, it adds a new button to print the publication duplex.

If you do not see this button, check under Tools > Add-ins to see if the
add-in is loaded. If not, then Publisher has had problems loading the
add-in. You might need to go to Tools > Macros > Security > Trusted
Publishers and check the box marked "Trust all installed templates and
add-ins".

Thanks - I found the button. Unfortunately it does not support 'Foldeded
publications'.
So now i have to find an easy wau to convert my project to a two page
project instead of a 4 page folder....

Best regards

The duplex add-in is unable to support booklet fold publications due to
insufficiencies in the Publisher Object Model.

The easiest way to manually duplex these is to use a separate intermediary
program.

If you download FinePrint from www.fineprint.com, you can print to the
FinePrint driver and it will do duplexing and much more for you with no
fuss. Unfortunately this costs money unless you want your publication to be
watermarked.

A free (although more difficult) alternative is to download and install
PrimoPDF from www.primopdf.com.
You print to the PrimoPDF driver, and it creates a PDF file of your
publication.
You then load this into Adobe Reader, which allows you to print odd or even
pages only. This makes manual duplex easy.

I am having the same problem I guess. The duplex option does not show up in
my printer options. I tried the link provided for the add-in and the other
link toward the bottom of the page but I only get blank pages.
