How do I edit the normal template and make itpermanent for all of my documents?

I cannot figure this out and frankly I am getting really annoyed with Word because I have to change the preferences each time! Help?

In virtually every dialog window for things like font, etc., there is a
button that says "Make default". If you click it, the change will be added
to the Normal template.

Alternatively, you can make the change in the Normal template itself and
then saving. Unfortunately, I can't tell you where to find your Normal
template because you didn't state your Word/Office version number (please
always do, and your OS version number as well!). This article will give you
all the alternatives: <http://word.mvps.org/Mac/MacWordNormal.html>
