How do I eliminate attachments generated in word 2007 mail merge

When using Word 2007 mail merge to send emails using Outlook 2007 I get two
attachments generated on all of the emails. The attachments are
"themedata.thmx" and "colorschememapping.xml". When I send the same message
using "Office Word/Outlook 2003", I do not get the attachments. How do I
eliminate the attachments generated in Word/Outlook 2007?
Any help is very much appreciated.
