Hi,
I'm designing a HTML e-mail for a customer to be used intern at their
company. So everybody their has the same outlook client. After a small test
it was clear that sending HTML mails wouldn't be a problem, so it needs to be
HTML mail, nothing else.
Now my problem is that Outlook seems te add every image in my HTML mail as
an attachement instead of embedding it. I tried it several ways of which I'll
describe two here:
1. I designed my webpage which I want to use as my HTML page in Photoshop
and Notepad. Than I uploaded it to our webserver and surfed to the webpage. I
tried "send it by e-mail" in IE 7. I got my mail properly send to me, but
when I tried to forward it or when I saved it as an OFT file and than opened
it again, my mail was still intact but every image in it was added again as
an attachement.
2. I copied everything from my webpage in IE. I created a new HTML mail in
Outlook, paste everything their, inserting a background image and sending it.
But same problem occurs, the mail stays intact, but every image is added
again as an attachement.
I surfed Google for hours now, but didn't find anything that explained how
to manually embed images. I know they're supposed to be
"CID:GenerateACodeHere", but I can not do that manually. Nor did I find any
nother solutions. The only "solution" I did find was by coding it in VB.Net
but that's not an option for me.
I'm using Outlook 2003 SP1 and Internet Explorer 7 (or Firefox 2.002) and
I'm on an exchange server.
I hope at a quick reply because the deadline is this evening.
Thanks!
