how do i enable page scrolling for word 2007?

I just installed the microsoft office student edition in my lap-top. I am
using Windows XP. When i use Word - I cannot perform scrolling using the
mouse wheel or the key-board arrows.
I am able to do the same when using excel 2007.
Is there any setting i need to make?
i have tried re-installing the programme - did not help.
I installed the same in another lap-top and it worked fine.
