I am using Pub 2007. Page is set at 760 x 4608px. When I evenly space the
text boxes in Pub they overlap in when viewed on the web browser. I have to
randomly move them around and keep previewing until it looks o.k. Very time
consuming. I want to standardize the space between.
Here is the link: baseball.montiniboyslacrosse.axspace.com.

I am speaking about the "Indiviual Leaders" pages. The info was imported
from excel, as text boxes. Fonts used: veranda & Trebucet. Thank you in
advance.

My experience has been that when I have attempted to import content from
Word, Excel and other programs, that frequently the formatting doesn't play
well with Publisher, and especially when you import into a web publication.
The layout can look correct and spacing good, but when you convert the page
into html, the formatting doesn't translate, and the spacing is not what you
expect. Special formatting that works in a print publication frequently does
not work in a web publication.

You can try clicking in the text box that you imported > Format > Styles >
Clear Formatting. This will strip out the formatting that you imported in
from Excel, and you should get more consistent results when you convert to
html.

Sometimes it helps to strip out the formatting by doing a paste special into
a text box that you create from within Publisher rather than importing a
text box from another application. Create a text box, copy the content in
Excel, paste special and choose an option to clear the formatting. Try the
different options, depending on what you are trying to paste. Then as
necessary, reformat within Publisher.

It can be easier to work with tables rather than text boxes. The data you
have on
http://baseball.montiniboyslacrosse.axspace.com/index_individualleaders.htm
would seem ideal for table format. You can add the yellow highlighted
heading text boxes directly in the table, and then they will always be
aligned with the data. Try importing or paste special the data as a table
and see if that works any better.

Frequently I just give up on excel, and just copy and paste the data into a
table that I create in Publisher. It is easy and faster for me to copy and
paste columns, etc. and ultimately you will have more control over how a
table built in Publisher displays than you would with one you imported from
Excel.
