How do I exclude some tasks from being numbered in WBS

I want to create a wbs that assigns numbers hierarchically & sequentially to
mt tasks, which is standard, but i want to exclude some tasks from being
numbered. so Task 1 would receive WBS number 1, task 2 receives no WBS
number and task 3 received WBS number 2.

i need this because I want the WBS numbers to map to some financial codes,
which are sequential and hierarchical, but some tasks do not get charged to
my group.

Hi rxlaxto,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

This is not possible with the in-built WBS system within Project. However,
you could create your own using one of the customizable fields like Text1.
