how do I expand text in a word document (e.g. define a word)

I want to include (hidden) definitions in a word document so people can click
if they need more info. For example:
"Subjects in our study must be 65 years or younger [why?]. They should be
in good health..."

[Why?} expands to: "recent research has shown that this intervention might
be dangerous to older participants. Please see (hyperlinked website) for
details."

I want the information hidden so it is only seen if the user cares to get
the additional information. Thanks for your help!

Hi Mary:

I've thought about doing this, but what an idea! It's actually kind of easy
to do-

1) Go to toolbar Insert-> Hyperlink
2) Select "Place on this document", then put in your "Why?" keyword.
3) Now click on "Screen Tip" and under "Screen Tip Text" put in your phrase,
s.a. "recent research has shown that this intervention might be dangerous to
older participants."
4) Place "OK" and test out your new blue highlighted keyword.

BINGO!!!

Cheers,
Al

A few comments here:

You must first insert a bookmark at the word location ("Why" in your
example).
There is a limit of 256 characters for the screen tip text.
When the mouse is floating over this hyperlink, and if the default options
are on, you will always see the text "CTRL + Click to follow the link".
If you use this and do not want the text to be blue and underlined, change
the Hyperlink style settings to remove the underline and the blue font
colour.
