How do I export data from a distribution list to Excel

I can export individual Contacts data into Excel but I cannot seem to export
data from my Distribution Lists into Excel. Can this be done? If so how?

There is no export function for DL's.
Just save it as a txt file and open it in Excel as a tab delimited file.
