If the slides are not animated, just use Save as and choose JPG as an output
format. Most video editing software will be able to import still images. If
the presentation is animated, you have to play the presentation and record
the screen. If your editing software does not support this: I usually use
TechSmith Camtasia Studio, www.techsmith.com, which supplies a lot of output
formats (and is an easy video editing software itself). There is a fully
functional 30-day trial version on their website.

Most powerpoint converters can't support PowerPoint 2007 (.pptx extension)
so you need to save it as Powerpoint 2003 (.ppt extension)

Go File > Save as
Fill in Save as type ''PowerPoint 97-2003''
After that you will have a .ppt file which can be converted to another format.
For this task I can suggest to use Presentation To Video Converter
