How do I extract info from an online database?

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

I'm stuck having to sift through 300+ patient data online. There must be an easier way! I would like to extract that information from an online database (that has a password and username) and transfer the information from that database to an excel spreadsheet so I can analyse the data.
I would really appreciate the help!
