How do I fade music at the end of a Power Point slide?

I am trying to fade out last 2-3 seconds of my music before transfering to my
next slide. It stops abruptly and sounds very unprofessional. I am wondering
if there is a way to "fade" it from one slide to the next. I am only using it
for my intro.

You will need to use sound editor such as Audacity (
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ ) to fade the music. You cannot use
PowerPoint to do so. You can only play, stop and pause the music.

Thanks! Quick and simple answer is what I was looking for, and you did just
that. Just knowing there is "not" a way to do it in Power Point has ended my
periodic brain tortures searching for the information through the program
help. Always asking myself, am I missing something, or maybe it won't even do
it. I had gotten to where i believed it didn't, and that's when I posted the
question. Thank you, your answer is very helpful.
