How do i fade the edges of a color filled text box?

S

sporter

I am trying to overlay a textbox over a picture but need to have a fill in
the text box so you can read the text. I have made the fill 75% transparent
so you can see the picture through the text box, but still have some color to
make the text stand out.

Is there any way to have the edges of the text box fade out or blend so it
isn't jsut a box over the picture?

Any info would be appreciated

Hi Sporter,

The steps can depend on the version of Word you're using, you can use other shapes than a rectangle and still have text in it and
use a gradient fill with no borders as one approach.

If you're using Word 2007 there are built in 'soft edge' effects for pictures as well.
