How do I fax with DSL?

I have a fax program I have configured and setup on my Windows XP. However,
it searches for a phone line dial tone, and says there isn't one available.
I know there should be some way to use this fax capability and not have to
completely disconnect my DSL, but I can't figure out how.

You connect your analog modem to a phone line. If you must fax through DSL,
you use can online fax service like www.efax.com

If your DSL comes with a splitter, you can use your analog modem to fax
through the telephone line.

Microsoft Office issues, not DSL or faxing.
