How do I fax with DSL?

I have a fax program I have configured and setup on my Windows XP. However,
it searches for a phone line dial tone, and says there isn't one available.
I know there should be some way to use this fax capability and not have to
completely disconnect my DSL, but I can't figure out how.

If your DSL comes with a splitter, you can use your analog modem to fax
through the telephone line.

Next time, please post to the appropriate news group as this group support
Microsoft Office issues, not DSL or faxing.
