How do I fill in part of a shape or crop a freeform shape?

Help! I am trying to get a wavy line across some pics with block colour
filling in up to the line. The block colour is separated into 3 columns of
different colours so I can't just fill in the freeform wavy shape.

Use the "Edit Points" tool to shorten the wavy line, copy/paste. I'm trying to
visualize what you are trying to do, I'm not having much luck.
