How do I find and insert male and female symbols?

These symbols are not in the Symbol menu in Office 2007.

You can use their unicode values. In Word type 2640 (female) or 2642 (male)
and then press ALT+X

Unfortunately, these symbols don't appear in the default Calibri and Cambria
fonts, but if you change the font to Times New Roman or Arial, you will find
them in the Miscellaneous Dingbats character subset, at 2640 and 2642. If
you insert them using the Alt+X method, you will see that Word changes the
font to Arial or TNR.

Removal of these centuries-old, universal symbols for male and female seems to be political correctness (PC) -- the result of a desire to blur the genders. In PC, there are no gender distinctions, even though the Christian Bible clearly indicates God gave us distinct sexes: "Male and female He created them (Genesis 1:27).
